As I observed yet another Martin Luther King Jr Day filled with senseless jokes and racist innuendo, it occurred to me just how far away Dr. Kings’ dream of all Americans being judged, “not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”, really is.
Hell, I’m not judged by the content of my character, and I’m a Native-Born-American-White-Man.
It’s not skin color that prevents your character content from being judged fairly in America ; It’s that those in a position to do so, don’t even know the difference.
