Epidemic of Pettiness

The idea that, “perception is reality” and therefore justifies belief in an untruth or inaccuracy is ridiculous.
Whether gathered from social media, television or just local rumor, consideration for information accuracy is critical for a society based on integrity and fair play.
In order for this to become prevalent however, our population must become more thoughtful and empathetic.
We must spend the effort to learn the truth before making a judgment based on inaccurate information, or abstain from judgement altogether.
To be clear; perception is perception, and reality is reality.
